Macros leading to Boxes with Arguments Developer Diary

I'm trying to set up a macro that users can use to grab a subset of data from a database, and it appears that the easiest way to format the data is to put it in a box. However, the box takes an argument, and I'm having trouble getting a macro that passes an argument to a box to work.

Using brackets instead of parentheses and dollar signs instead of pipes... I want: "[[mtgdeck 4343]]" in a story to become the box "$BOX,mtgdeck,4343$" Anyone have any ideas? This earlier diary entry seems to reference the same issue, but the code change suggested didn't change anything.
