"Don't include my sig" option Feature Requests

How about a checkbox option during comment submission to not include your sig?

Also, perhaps it would be better and more intuitive to have a checkbox (checked by defualt) for "Append my sig." Even still, you could have a text box for an alternate sig, but then, why not just append it to the comment itself?

Since it's now being discussed on slashnet, many feel feel either it's a stupid idea because of the retroactive sig changes, or that the retroactive sig changes are stupid in and of themselves. Your call.

treat sigs as text? (4.50 / 2) (#4)
by kellan on Mon Feb 05, 2001 at 01:54:25 PM PST

how about when you post a new comment, if you have a sig it starts in the comment box, and you can edit it, or delte it as you see fit.

if you have multiple sigs then you could have several options listed w/ radio buttons or whatever, that use the magic of javascript to added them to the comment area upon clicking.

is there a reason to treat sigs specially? and upate them on all posts through out time? (so called sticky sigs) this way we have a timeline we can watch change and mature.(eg. if sigs were retroactively updated in a place like comp.lang.perl it would be a great loss to the art of one-liners)

I think adding this option will increase the anonimity of writers hence promoting them to write more. This will make australianwritings reliable and more fun for the audience and different people who will be commenting.
