Anonymizing the submission queue Developer Diary

As days go by and more and more stories gets submitted to K5 about what is wrong with K5, I feel the strong urge to anonymize the submission queue.

I know there has been a lot of discussion on this subject with no concrete decision either way, but I feel that to preserve the impartiality towards story submitters, this is the best step.

Atleast shoudln't Scoop have the ability to do this if need be?? Maybe I should code something up.. just a matter of one more var I guess.

why? (5.00 / 1) (#1)

whats the rationale? i certainly make descisions about a story based on the author of the story. i want to have that piece of info. if i'm reading a story on C99 posted by Carnage4Life, I'm going to trust the facts based on the generally high quality of their earlier stories, even if some of it sounds a little off to me, where perhaps I would be a little more skeptical of the motives behind the story if it was posted by the notorious Anne Marie. similiarly i'll cut somebody post their first story more slack then a regular who keeps posting garbage.

developing a reputation, even an anonymous one, is an important facet of online journalism.
