We run a distance learning website called the Globewide Network Academy.
The problem for our site is that we would like to replace
some of the parts of the site that we've written in
house with things derived from scoop.
In order to do this, we have started to combine scoop
with Mason. An example
of what we have done is on the
web.
What we hope to be able to do is to take any one of our
web pages and when if we want to add a column containing
scoop stories in that page, we can. This will let us
add "parts of scoop" to our site as needed.
Alternatively, it
may be possible to take a scoop template, and then
embed dynamic content such as a bar containing the
current date.
This is actually our second attempt to do this. We have
already tried to embed news stories into our site using
slashdot code, but the code there proved to be too messy
to do this. I've been impressed at how clean and well
written scoop is in comparison.
