Bugfixes Developer Diary

I added Diaries to scoop.k5.org because I thought it'd be a good spot for people using or coding scoop to note down what they did, problems they had, solutions, whatever. Please try to keep them kinda on-topic though. :-)

Today's bugfixes, noted below..

  • Added "Diary By" search, like an author search, but to find diaries, not stories
  • Fixed subsequent search bugs caused by the changes. Oops.
  • Added a check so that authors of stories can look at their submissions even if they are voted down and marked "Never Display". This is to facilitate editing and resubmission. I also checked all the unusual story display cases and made sure they returned sensible pages if you weren't allowed to see something.
Continuing concerns:
  • I'm not sure op=comments will do the right thing depending on what the status of a story is.
  • Hidden sid's can be used to boost mojo in a pretty non-peer-reviewed way. This worries me. Maybe we should kill hidden sid's.
That's just a couple things. Comments welcome.

User prefs update bug fixed-- now when you update your user info, the correct (new) information shows up on the confirm page.

Odd bug where the number of new stories was incorrect when you updated your display prefs. Fixed by making sure that the thresholds for posting/hiding were interpreted properly every time _set_ui() is called.

Also, I added a nightly-build-bot here. Every midnight, this box will update from CVS and generate a new nightly tarball, linked from the front page. Enjoy!
