Apache 2? Developer Diary

Will Scoop run with it? I have a mod_perl for binary the Win Apache2, and am curious if this will work? The mod_perl I grabbed for ActivePerl 5.6.800 seems to want to grab the mod_perl for Apache 2, and well, if this works, why not try it out. Any thoughts?

nobody has yet gotten it to work (none / 0) (#1)

But then, I don't know how much effort has gone into trying. At the moment, we just say that apache 2 isn't supported, but would be very interested to hear otherwise :-)

I've got it working. (none / 0) (#2)

Linux though. I don't know about Windows. Some patching of Scoop code is required to remove methods that are no longer in use in mod_perl 2.

You also need to get the latest Apache::Request from CVS, as they've not done a release yet. I don't know if it works on windows. You can replace it with the CGI unit with a couple of code changes if required.

See my site for more details.

Works with latest nightly (none / 0) (#3)

Thanks to hulver, the latest Scoop nightly works just fine with Apache2 and mod_perl2. However, as he also mentioned, you have to use the latest CVS version of Apache::Request, which I'm sure there is no release of for win32. I suppose that means unless you can compile it yourself, or find someone to compile it for you, it still won't work on windows until the next libapreq release.
