i think scoop has potential as a tool for community support in a commercial context.

i see nothing in the faq re licensing, etc.

what's the deal?

Scoop is GPL'd, so use it for what you like. So if you're planning on modifying and selling it, then release the changes back. Optimally you would contract out a few of the scoop core developers to make your customizations, and release them (the customizations) back to the community. Though, it is GPL, you're almost 100% free to do what you want :)

Included in the distribution is a LICENSE file, and the README file says that this is licensed under the GPL.
