I want to be able to edit my stories in a file and then simply browse to and upload that. Er, that's it.

The problem I'm trying to circumvent here is the capricious nature of the clipboard - on a couple of occasions I've lost work because the clipboard cut and paste didn't work.
So I want to knock the clipboard out of the loop. Obviously it's not worth it for small stories, as you can work with them in the soon-to-be-resizable (eh, Hurst?) edit boxes. But for large stories it'd be real nice.

Yeah I'd like that too. Just a small matter of implementation, I don't think it would be that hard, either...

regarding resizable text boxes, theantix did that, and its almost in cvs now from what I hear.

text editor wrapper as an XML-RPC Client (none / 0) (#2)

This would provide as an interesting proving ground for the fourthcoming XML-RPC interface that several folks have been independently implementing.

My thinking here is that a text editor wrapper similar to 'boxtool' could be created which, upon exit, accesses the target scoop site and posts the article via XML-RPC.

The currently submitted XML-RPC interface is esentially bolted onto scoop rather than integrated, so it will be a while until it is ready to be checked in but when it becomes available, clients in JAVA or any other language could facilitate various new and interesting interfaces to K5 and other scoop sites.
