Well, around late December last year, I found enough time to get a box up and running and get Scoop installed. I even got as far as some logo graphics and a bit of Scoop tweaking. Then my life got in the way again.
I really want this thing to get off the ground though - I want to see the site happen. I think it'd be a good idea, and I've had just enough positive responses from people to make me feel guilty about not doing anything. So here we are. I figured this would be a good place to post, since I'm guessing most people reading this site are already inclined towards being Scoop administrators. :)
So - want to do it? I'd like to stay as an admin, but I'll be very unobtrusive. I'll continue to administer the server it's sitting on, since it does other jobs for me. I'd like to retain ownership of the domain name, but that's negotiable. Scoop would be totally yours, however.
I'm not just handing over to the first person to put their hand up, as I really want to see this done right. Let's assume this is a call for tenders. Email me and tell me why it should be you. Apply as an individual or a group. It's a job that really requires more than one person, I think. Fair warning: one of my personal quirks is that I tend towards being a bit of a Grammar Nazi, so if you can't spell or tell the difference between "your" and "you're", I'm not likely to hand over a web site to you. :) Comments attached to this story would be a good place to sort out groups, I think.
I'm happy to put various people in touch with each other too, if you'd like to be involved but not alone - I won't give out email addresses or other contact details unless you tell me it's OK, so please make it clear if you're cool with that.
So here we go - caution has been thrown to the wind, and I can now stop feeling guilty about having done nothing. Let's see what happens.
