Multi-sub-domain sites Feature Requests

I wanted to amend Scoop so that I could use multiple sub-domains for my site and then change the behaviour of the site depending on what sub-domain you came in.

My site is called Scottish Political Discussion at domain name scottish.politicaldiscussion.org

I wanted to host multiple sites like American Political Discussion at domain name american.politicaldiscussion.org with the images etc changing depending on which sub-domain you came in on.

I thought, well I'll try and make it work with multiple sub-domains, and then do the image-stuff.

So I edit the httpd-conf to add another sub-domain pointing to the same code base/mysql database and ...it works, just like that, no code changes, nothing, multiple homing automatigically...

Easiest change ever, strike one meatball...

It's a simple matter to have different scoop sites on subdomains. The complexity is introduced whe nyou want to do things like have user accounts shared across sites or use other shared elements like certain blocks or boxes.

Hurstdog had a write-up of a proposed strategy for controlled section administration as well.

well done, Mr. Guthrie. What do you think of this comment i made on K5?

What i would like to see on your site besides the contents is an experiment to see that out of an all inclusive democratic media can a representative order emerge from it and what power should you give to this new order so that it works recursively for the base of what it represents and for the better of its own governance.
