DialogNow.org is a forum to promote dialog between the two peoples of India and Pakistan. In spite of being neighbours, there is little or not communication between people of the two countries, and consequently a lot of misunderstanding about the viewpoints of the other side.
There are a few Yahoo message boards where people animatedly discuss such issues, but it always degenerates into a shouting match. The hope is that a Scoop type moderation system can keep the dialog civil and meaningful.

The system has been fucntional for two days. I have emailed a few friends about it, but am still figuring out how to get news out about it. Please take a look and email anyone who might be interested about it.
DialogNow is meant as a test system. If this works and one can really acheive meaningful dialog between two peoples who have a lot of differences, then the model can be extended to other trouble spots in the world!
The design goals of the system were to promote civil dialog between two groups who vehemently disagree with each other. I spent a lot of time, and did a lot of reading regarding that. As regards with the setup, it took me 10 days of hard work to get everything working, and the user interaction the way I want it (it needs a lot fine tuning). I went with a hosted solution with Altercom, which is appropriate for someone non-technical like me. They have been great.
Love Scoop and its infinite configurability! Thanks to all of you on the Scoop team!
