It would be nice if comments or replies made by the original story author were marked specially. How about some text like (Author's Reply) next to the subject line?

It's a little annoying to post a reply to someone's comment, and later notice several similar comments, apparently made without reading the reply.

I would love to see this for two reasons:

  1. It would make 'good point, that grammar should be changed' comments from the original poster more obvious to editors

  2. Often the poster has additional clarification to add that is not wanted by the general audience, but that pertains to a comment by someone else. This would help those to stand out more.


However, it would also be handy to let the author not mark her comments as such, so that she can participate in a thread and 'blend in' without drawing undue attention to those posts.
