Censorship in scoop username Feature Requests

If you look at a range of BBS/weblog kind of softwares, you will see ability to filter rude/obscene words in user comments. How about having that feature in a slightly restricted way in scoop?

Frankly I do not think it really is a big deal to use bad words in comments.

But it is not the same for usernames. If I was admin of a scoop based site, i would not like to give away names that contain some words. More than words like fuck, I am more worried about racist words etc.

So won't it be a good idea to have a filter list for usernames, where the admin can add words according to his discretion?

Your thoughts?

A properly implemented moderation system/community should discourage inappropriate usernames, and censorship always seems like a generally bad idea. There are plenty examples, however, of where certain strings ought to be disallowed. For instance, admins on plastic.com have an identifying string in their nick that indicates which parent site they come from: "Joey (Suck)", for example. Their system currently allows random users to impersonate admins in this way, though admins do reserve the power to go in and clean matters up manually.
