Modifying scoop to just do voting Feature Requests

I'm trying to create a site where ideas can be submitted, and then voted on by the community, with discussion/comments on the ideas also encouraged.

But I just can't work out how to make Scoop do this.

Scoop looks like it has all the pieces of the puzzle, but I can't work out how to put it together. The end result I'd like is for something like the main story screen but still with the ability for people to vote on the ideas (as well as rate comments). I plan to set submitted ideas to automatically appear on the front page (and perhaps have them delete if they are voted down enough).

I can't see how to mod this screen to do that, so I thought of adding full story display (rather than just headings) to the voting page. However, this has also stumped me :-(

Does anyone know if such a thing is going to be possible, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
