After a rather too-long hiatus, the revamped scoop.k5.org is at last back on the net. Now all those who post feature requests on Kuro5hin itself may again be chastized as they so rightly deserve. See below for some pertinent info on the new site.

A few things to note: Unfortunately, the DB from the old site was mangled in transit, and I had to make the tough decision to just start fresh. So, all your old accounts are gone. You get to make new ones with snazzy low UID's though, so it can't be all bad. This also means that all the articles and whatnot from the old site are history too. Maybe we'll restore them at some point.
We need icons! You'll note, eventually, that all the icons are that damn shovel. The shovel's nice, but it just doesn't provide all the visual info it could, really. So, we need your artistic talents. If you're good with that sort of thing, email icons to rusty@kuro5hin.org.
Things are still a little rough. I'll be adding sections and topics as appropriate, and hopefully working out any display issues that might crop up (report them!). But at least we have a start, and the project can hopefully expand beyond me and hurstdog a little bit.

The leftmost column on the main table takes up a lot of page real estate at 30% width. Seeing as how the center column is where the real content is going to be for the most part, it should probably take up more than just 45% of the page.

I think it would refocus the users attention more if the left column had a smaller font with the table width cut down a little bit. I know i can change the font in the display pref's but it doesn't change the width of the column.

just my thoughts. Now i have to remember the myriad of suggestions/comments i came up with during the scoop break...

The login box has the "Mail Password" button on the left... Quite bad, quite bad... Of course, when I tab-spaced it by accident, I just logged in without getting the email, so it's not too bad... just not so good. :-)
